As a Living Historian, it is my goal to depict Major General John G. Foster as he served during the American Civil War. General Foster was promoted to Major General in 1862, and served in this capacity through the end of hostilities in 1865. Present at Fort Sumter in 1861 during the Confederate bombardment, then Captain Foster served with honor during this crisis and is truly one of the little known heroes of the Civil War.
